Jen Welton

Jen Welton is Vice President at Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust (CRBT), the largest community bank in Linn County. She has been in the industry for more than 20 years in retail, treasury management and commercial lending. Jen’s current role is developing and fostering relationships with commercial clients. She is also part of the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and Professional Practice Group at CRBT.

Jen has a long history of serving large-scale projects in the community. In 2009, she was on the founding board of the NewBo City Market. This project renovated an abandoned Cedar Rapids warehouse that was located in an industrial neighborhood, turning it into a year-round indoor/outdoor public market and entrepreneurial incubator. The project was the catalyst for the entire redevelopment of the NewBo neighborhood, an area that is now a cultural epicenter for Cedar Rapids and a destination for tourists.

For the City of Palo, Jen stepped up and served at a critical time, managing industrial solar issues, the Duane Arnold Energy Center closure and water-sewer rate restructuring.

A long-time servant leader, Jen has served on many boards and community projects.

Her current involvement includes serving as a Palo City Council Member, and on the Eastern Iowa Health Center Board and Finance Committee, Rotary Club of Cedar Rapids Board and as Grand Impact Chair, Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation Finance Committee, NewBo Capital Campaign Committee, United Way Campaign Cabinet and the 2024 class of Iowa Association of Business and Industry’s (ABI) Leadership Iowa.

Jen has had the privilege to work on many notable projects and feels it’s an honor to be able to serve her community and the state. Jen is a leader who fosters growth in those around her, and is a mentor, volunteer and community advocate. She has degrees from both Kirkwood Community College and Mount Mercy University. She is married with two children, one in elementary school and one in high school.
